2) Roll Call/Introductions
3) Approval of Agenda
4) Audience Comments (We respectfully request that guests limit comments to 5 minutes or less)
5) Approval of Meeting Notes
February and March meeting notes were distributed via email. Please bring corrections/comments.
6) New Tree Board member introduction; review of Tree Board 2016 events, and Tree Board mission statement:
The City of Edmonds Tree Board will engage, encourage, and educate both the City
government and residents to protect our current canopy resource and plant new trees
appropriately for the long term benefit of our community.
7) Old Business/Discussion (60 minutes)
• Cass Turnbull presentation update from Barbara Durr. We should have a motion and vote on the amount we're
going to pay her. $100? $150? $200? Discuss all logistics including refreshments, publicity.
• Barbara Durr — update on meeting with School District to discuss on -campus planting activities? When/where?
• 2016 events calendar. Barbara Chase suggested a publicity announcement of our 2016 events. Seems like a nice
idea. We will be announcing them at the Council presentation April 12. Should we do anything else?
• Barbara Chase's My Edmonds News periodic article on tree topics. Emphasize "Right Tree, Right Place." Who is
willing to step up to contribute?
• Tree Board City Council presentation, April 12 at the City Council meeting. Please plan on attending — for moral
support! And also because I would like to introduce all Tree Board members to the Council. Barbara and I have
met to discuss presentation topics. We will have approximately 12 — 15 minutes for the presentation, followed by
Q&A.
8) New Business (30 minutes)
• Barbara Durr and Doug Petersen present summary of meeting with Micki McNaughton, WA DNR. It was a
productive meeting that covered a lot of ground that is useful for us for future planning.
• Reschedule the May 5 meeting. Does it work better for people to meet on April 28 or May 12? Cass Turnbull
presentation at 7:00 conflicts with our normal meeting time.
9) Tree Board Member Comments
10) Adjournment
Future meetings May 5, 2016, 7:00 pm presentation by Cass Turnbull at City Council Chambers; June 2, 2016
