AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE EXTERIOR OF THE
RESIDENCE LOCATED AT 560 BELL STREET, EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON FOR INCLUSION ON THE EDMONDS
REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES, AND DIRECTING THE
DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DIRECTOR OR DESIGNEE TO
DESIGNATE THE SITE ON THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP
WITH AN "HR" DESIGNATION., AND FIXING A TIME WHEN
THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the residence located at 560 Bell Street, Edmonds, Washington, is
included on the Historic Survey of Downtown Edmonds prepared by BOLA Architecture in
conjunction with the Washington State Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation in
October, 2004, as a property that could potentially contribute to a historic district; and
WHEREAS, the Edmonds Historic Preservation Commission held a public hearing
on July 11, 2019, to consider the eligibility of the residence for listing on the Edmonds Register of
Historic Places; and
WHEREAS, after consideration of the staff report the Commission voted to
recommend to the City Council that the residence be listed on the Edmonds Register of Historic
Places; and
and
WHEREAS, the owner(s) have given their written consent for such designation;
WHEREAS, the City Council has received the recommendation of the Historic
Preservation Commission regarding the features of the site which contribute to its designation and
finds that the application meets the criteria of the ordinance as contained in Chapter 20.45 of the
ECDC; and

WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on August 20, 2019, to consider
the Historic Preservation Commission's recommendation; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The residence located at 560 Bell Street, Washington 98020 is hereby
approved for designation to the Edmonds Historic Register. The exterior of the building is hereby
designated as significant.
Section 2. The Development Services Director, or her designee, is hereby
authorized to designate the listed site on the Edmonds zoning map with an "HR" designation. This
designation does not change or modify the underlying zone classification.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi-
cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect five
(5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the title.

On the 20th day of August, 2019, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, passed
Ordinance No. 4158. A summary of the content of said ordinance, consisting of the title, provides
as follows:
