Motion carried. I\ The Water collectors report was read to the Council. The bills as approved by the auditing committee are to be paid and warrants drawn on the proper funds. The roll call showed the fo lowing councilmen present Tuson, Sorensen, Kincaid, Cloud, Steed and Sommerseth. \ This was the night set for the hearing on the Assessment roll for L. I. D. #76. There being no objections to the assessment roll, a motion was made byyCouncilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Sommerseth that Ordinance No. 689 approving it be passed. Motion Carried. This was the night set for the hearing on Assessment roll for L. I. D. #78, Cedar Street sewer, There being no objections to the assessment roll, a motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded�by<Councilman Sorensen that Ordinance No. 690 approving it, be passed. Motion carried. This was also the night set for a hearing on L. I. A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Tuson that L. I. D. # 77 be Closed and the final assessment roll be approved and Ord. No. 691 be passed. Motion carried Five bids were received for the removal _of'_,:. the house on Dayton Street. A motion was made by ,Councilman Tuson to give it to the Fire Department. Motion was withdrawn. A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Tuson that Mayor Maxwell be given authority to have the house disposed of, providing it is torn down. Motion carried. The house was sold to rrank Miller for $25. Mayor Maxwell reported that he Had figures for remodeling the City Hall, which include folding doors, tables, venetian blinds, chairs and labor, in the amount of $935.60. Motion carried. The meeting recessed until Thursday night. The Council met for its recessed Meeting with Mayor Maxwell presiding. A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded day Councilman Sorensen that the Davison Plat be approved subject to the outlined provisions and the Mayor was authorized to sign said plat. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Cloud that we adopt the amendment to the City Code changing the number of precincts in the city from three to six wards. Motion carried. The amendment to the city code for house trailers was postponed vhtil our next meeting. A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Cloud that the sewer and water plans for the Munger Addition #5 be accepted. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Sorensen that the street gra de for Munger Addition #5.be accepted. Motion carried. Mayor Maxwell reported on his trip to Olympia in regards to aaFederaliGnant tormour Sewer Disposal Plant. He also asked Supervisor Lawson to check on the water meter installations for a census count for this year. The petition ddr street lights on Ninth Avenue North from Casper street to Daley st.was requested to be answered by the Clerk, stating that plansare being drawn up by the'•P. U. D. for lights in this area. - The Treasurers report was read to the Council. A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Cloud that the Mayor be authorized to sign the supplimental agreement with lh'ashington Asphalt Co., subject to final checking by Attorney Holte. Ci y Clerk Mayor March 5, 1957 The Council met for its regular session with Mayor Maxwell presiding. The roll call showed the following Councilmen present Tuson, Sorensen, Kincaid, Cloud, and Steed Thomas Purton was sworn in as Councilman for Third Ward, until the next City election. The JVater Collectors report was read to the Council, for the month of February A motion vas made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Sorensen that the bills as approved by the auditing committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried. This was the night set for a hearing on the North end sewer L. I. D. #79. The Cit* Hall was filled with people interested about the sewer. One written protest was received from Frank D. King, 828 Cary Road. Mayor Maxwell,eAt_torney. Holte and Engineer explained the fundamentals of the L. I. D.and answered questions from the property owners. Attorney Holte recommended and a motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Sorensen that the passing of.the Ordinance be held up until the next council meeting. Motion carried. This was also the night set for a hearing on a sewer in the Munger Additon #5. A:.mo.tion .,;as made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Cloud that Ordinance No 692, setting up L. I. D. No 80 be passed. Motion carried. ° A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Tuson that the agree- ment With Mountlake Terrace for fire protection, be signed by Mayor Maxwell. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Steed that the amendment `to our City Code Chapter 9 article 1, section 9-1.07, house trailers,: be accepted. Motion carried. Engineer Reid stated to had talked to Mr. Saxton in Olympia in regards to the grant for our Sewer Disposal Plant. A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Steed if Engineer Reid gets a favorable report,nMayor maxwell be authorized to call for bids for the sewer disposal plant. Sproule McGinness requested that he be replaced on the Civil Service Commission. City Cl,'erk Mayor March 19, 1957 The Council metfor its regular session with Mayor Maxwell presiding, The roll call showed the following councilmen present Tuson, Sorensen, Cloud, Kincaid and Sommerseth. 56Vb' bids wwoe received for the laying of 600 feet of 8 inch water main on Dayton street west on Third avenue The bids are as follows, Harry Squires, $564, Foster & Freese, $537, F. M. TayJ9r, $570, Ace. Consttucion co., $98A, Thorburn & Logozo $910, Superior Consttuction Co., $1040, Evergreen Excavators, $628. A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Sommerseth that we accept the low bid of Foster & Freese for $537. Motion carried. A Petition was read to the Council with the signatures of 58 property owners, residing north of Casper street, protesting the North end sewer. The total amount of protests were $44,752.00. After checking by City Attorney and Engineer Reid, it was found that 61% protested the L. I. D. Engineer Reid stated the Engineering Costs on this project would amount to $1300.00. Several persons stated they were in favor of the sewer, but they were not in favor of paying for the trunk sewer, which other property owners would benefit by, at a latter date.
