June 11, 1957
The Council met for its second recessed meeting with Mayor Maxwell presiding, with
the following councilmen present Tuson Sorensen, Cloud, Steed and Purton present.
Answering the problem for a larger water maincon Seamont Lane, which was turned over
to Fire Chief Astell and Engineer Reid for checking. A motion was made by Councilman
Tuson and seconded by Councilman Cloud, that we accept the rec ommendation of the Fire
between 5th
Chief- a hydrant be placed on Pine Street west of 6th avenue and one placed
and 6z street on Hemlock way. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Steed that a two inch
be installed on Seamont Lane, subject to the attorney checking for the easement, and
main
after the people have paid for the water meterfees. Motion carried.
Second avenue North came up for discussion. After some discussion a motion was made by
Councilman Tuson and seconde d by -Councilman Sorensen that the City acquire a five foot
right of way on the east side of Second Avenue North, from Edmonds Street to the property
owned by Mrs. McFarland, in exchange for the City paying for putting in the sidewalks,
and providing the property on the west side dedicat&ng five feet of property and paying
for their°sidewalks. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman -Steed that the
warrants and bonds, for L. I. D. #79, be sold to Terry Thompson, to bear 5% interest.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Steed that the contract
for the Sunset'Lift Station be awarded to the second lowest bidder Mr. Beauchamp, amount
of the bid $21,000.00 subject to the approval of the Public Health Service and the
Pollution Control Commission. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Steed that Chapter 7
Article 22 Section 7-2.02A, chafing the connection fee for sewers from $200 to $300.
Motion carried. //``
Engineer Read recommended holdin Pthe action of awarding the bid for paving in the
Cassell addition.

The Council ifiet for its regular session with Mayor Maxwell presiding. The roll
call showed the following councilmen present Tuson, Sorensen, Cloud and Purton.
The Treasurers report was read to the Council.
An estimated cost of $3500 was given to the Council, for the storm sewer between
Main -and Dayton street on Fifth avenue, and recommended by Engineer Reid to take
the sewer 60 feet East in the alley.
The Council proceeded to review the Ordinance and Franchise -ofth the Washington
Natural Gas.
The meeting recessed until June 25.
June 25, 1957
The Council met for its recessed meeting, with Mayor maxwell presiding, with the
following councilmen present Tuson, Sorensen, Cloud, Kincaid and Purton present.
A letterlYom Angus Kennedy, 1110 J�h avenue, asking for permission to have
trailers on his peoperty, was turned over to Attorney Holte for checking with
our Ordinance.
The Council met with two representatives from the Wash. Natural Gas Co., Mr. Gaw
and Swartz, to discuss the gas ordinance.
Mayor Maxwell appointed Fire Chief Astell, Attorney Holte, Councilman Tuson and Cloud,
as a committee to work out section #8 of the ordinance.
After making a number of changes the ordinance was turned over to attorney Holte
for re writing.
