The Council met for its regular session with.Mayor Maxwell presiding, with the
following Councilmen present Tuson, Sorensen, Cloud, Kincaid, Purton and McGibbon.
The Treasurers m port was read to the Council.
Because of no objections for the vacation of a prtion of Second Avenue North, a motion
was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Sorensen that Ord. No. 710 for
said vacation, be passed. Motion carried.
As no objections were filed for thm vacation of Tenth Avenue lying between Bell and
Edmonds streets, except the alley therein, a motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and
seconded by Councilman Sorensen that Ord. #M, for said vacation, be passed. Motion carried.
This also being the date s et for a hearing on vacating a portion of Eleventh Avenue, at
Laurel Street, and no objections being stated, a motion was made by Councilman Kincaid
and seconded by Councilman Purton that Ord. #712 for said vacation, be passed. Motion carried.
Mayor Maxwell reported he had received appraisals f1tom the 'three Real Estate AgeniB, Johnson,
Frederickson and Hubbard, on the property in the Riley Park, to be acquired for loth Avenue,
with a total price,,of $3845.00. A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by
Councilman Tuson that we proceed with the acquisition of the Riley property, at the p rice
of $3845: as per the appraisal, to be paid from the New Construction Street Fund. Motion carried.
'A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Cloud that we call for bids
for the disposal of the Disgested Sludge, from the Treatment Plant, by truckingaway in liquid
form, bids to be opened November 19th. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Sorensen that the salary
for E. W. Olson, for the next three months be paid from monies in the Sewer Disposal Plant
Fund, for training the Plant Operator. Motion carried.
A letter was read from Venne Beaucham
p, stating they plan to begin work on the diversion Manhole,
Wednesday October 16, and anticipate the necessity of closing Dayton Street to traffic, for
appro zimately 30 days.
A letter was received from Ben Sibons, stating they are willing to deed a right-of-way
to the City for 12th avenue by forming a Local improvement District. This was turned over
to Attorney Holte and Supervisor Lawson. °
Three bids were received for installing a septic tank at the City Park. A motion was made
by,Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Sorensen that the Richmond Concrete Products
be given the bid at the price of $1410.00 plus the installing of 225 feet of 12 inch pipe.
Motion carried.
A letter was read from I. V. Evans in regards to extending and installing 135 feet of sewer
line to their property on Cedar Street, he asks to have the connection fee of $300 wavered.
A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Cloud that Mr. Evans be
allowed to put in the sewer to his property line, under the City Specifications, and he be
given credit for $300, when a sewer is installed on Cedar Street. Motion carried.
A,petition was read to the Council, from the property owners along Dayton, Eighth Avenue
and Main streets, about the noise and possible damage that will be done to the streets,
by the gravel ttucks, that are using said streets. The signatures of 25 property owners
appeared on the petition. This was turned over to Attorney Holte to find out what can
legally be done on this.
Mr. Neal asked to have Second Avenue from Dayton street to Alder streetliandoAlderl.street.
from Second to Third Avenue.improved, with.curbs and gutter, and a gravel street.
A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Kincaid that the West
Coast Telephone Company be given permission to install an under -ground cable at Five
Corners. Motion carried.
A letter was receivedfrom Washington Natural ompany, for application to construct
and install three 211 main extensions within the imits of Edmonds, on 96th West, 216 S. W.
Eleventh Avenue and -Pine Street. A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen and seconded
by Councilman Tuson that the application be granted. Motion carried.
A motion waa made by Councilman Cloud and seconded by Councilman Sorensen that the bills from
MR. Beauchamp for the Sunset Lift Station and the Sewer Disposal Plant, and Engineer bills
for street grade and for planning, be paid. Motion carried.

The Council met for a special session with Mayor Maxwell presiding with the following
councilmen present Tuson, Sorensen, Cloud, McGibbon and Blackburn.
This meeting Was called for the purpose of openind bids for Third Avenue sidewalk.
One bid was received from Larson & Sons of Everett. The bid was in the amount'of $12,737.00
Engineer'Reid recommended and a motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Council-
man Blackburn that we reject the bid and do not consider this construction until next
Spring. Motion carried.
