Mountlake Terrace and Snohomish County. Motion carried.
A report to the Edmonds City Council from the Building Code Committee was brought
before the Council, and is to be taken up at our January meeting.
A letter from Engineer Reid was read to the Council, stating that the Disposal Plant
and Sunset Lift Station has bean satisfactority completed, except for several minor
-itmes, and asks that he be authorized to notify the Representatives of the Public
Health Service, and arrange for an inspection for the purpose of securing the.unpaid
balance of the Federal Grant. A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by C.-:-: c ' 1.
Councilman Sorensen that the Council ar.c,ept the Disposal Plant as being completed.
Motion carried. 11
A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Sorensen that the
Sunset Lift Station be accepted as completed. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Sorensen that this
meeting recess until Monday Night. Motion carried.
December 23, 1957
The Council met for its recessed meeting with Mayor Maxwell presiding, with Council-
men Tuson, Sorensen, Cloud, Purton and Blackbourn present.
This being the night set for a hearing on Emergency Ord. #715 to provide for
additional funds to pay the salaries and additional supplies and truck for the
water Department in the amount of $4600.00, additional street lights , $840.00,
Printing $350.00, and $450.00,for the Police Department, for 1957. A motion
was made by Counciliian.Tuson and seconded by Councilman Purton that Emergency
Ordinance.# 715 be passed. Motion carried.

A letter was received from Edmonds School District, stating that they will pay the
City of Edmonds $2000.00 to install the sewer for the Westgate Elementary School.

sewer installation. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Sorensen that Fire
District #13 be notified that we wish to re -open the contract with them, for fire
protection. Motion carried.

January 7, 1958
The meeting was called to order at 8 P.M. by Mayor Maxwell, with Councilmen McGibbon,
Cloud, Tuson, Purton, Blackbourn, Sorensen, and Kincaid present.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
A letter from the Snohomish County Nursest Association was read, requesting parking
space at their new Dayton Street location. Mayor Maxwell will refer this letter to
the proper committee.
Mrs. Anita Busch gave the Water Collection Report.
Several property owners attended the meeting to take part in the discussion of the
proposed roadway for the 12th Avenue extension. After discussion, an informal poll
was taken, resulting in 11 for, and 2 against pursuing the matter further in order
to determine proposed costs for this road. No council action was taken.
A discussion followed on LID #82. The bids received on this had been too high, and
approximately 80% of the property owners in the district had signed a petition to
have the LID dropped. However, since the protests were not filed within the 30 day
limit, a motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Cloud to Aaoy
CALL.,.- bids for LID #82, the bids to be opened February 18, 1958, and the necessary
legal notices to be published, with a notice -to be sent to contractors Haines and
Nelson inviting them to bid on the project. Motion was carried.

was made by Mr. Kincaid and seconded by Mr. Sorensen that the Methodist Church at
5th and Dayton be requested to withhold the sale of their property for 30 days in
order to give -the city the opportunity to explore the possibilities ofthe maximum
