A motion was made by Councilman McGibbon, seconded by Councilman Tuson authorizing
interest -bearing warrant #1 against LID #96 to Grande & Co. for printing costs and
one-half attorney's fee, total amount of $257.55• Motion carried.
The Water Collector's report for May was read.
A letter from Terry Ward was received requesting permission for the Rotary Club to
erect a sign on Edmonds Way, and a motion was made by Councilman McGibbon and seconded by
Councilman Tuson that the Rotary Club be authorized to install a sign on Edmonds Way
in the vicinity as described, under the supervision of the City Supervisor. Motion
carried.
A letter from William J. Bryant Jr. inquiring as to the correct procedure in
procuring Lots 1-2-3-4-5 in Block 76 was referred to the Attorney.
A letter from Chas. W. Beilke requesting the City to take out the jog in the road on
15th Avenue adjacent to his property was referred to Supervisor Lawson,
A Petition for Annexation received by the Attorney was submitted to the Council, and
a motion was made by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Lambe that the City
adoept the Petition for annexation of Lot 2, Block 4, Alderwood Manor #9 and the
Hearing be set for June 169. Motion carried.
Amotion was made by Councilman Sorensen and seconded by Councilman McGibbon that
Resolution #41 be passed, calling for repairs of certain sidewalk areas in the City,
with the Hearing set for July 21. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Sorensen
• authorizing the mayor to hire another maintenance man for the Street Dept. Motion
carried.
There was no further business and the meeting adjourned.

Regular meeting was called to order by Mayor Maxwell with all councilmen present.
This was the evening set for the hearing on the Petition for Annexation of Lot 2,
Block 49 Alderwood Manor #9, but due to lack of publication, a motion was made by
Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Simpson that the Hearing on the
Petition for Annexation of Lot 21 Block 49 Alderwood Manor #9 be re -set for July 7,
and the attorney be instructed to make the necessary publications. Motion carried.
A letter was received from Fire Chief Astell stating the Fire Department's acceptance
of the new fire truck, following its meeting all specifications, and recommending
payment for same. A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman
Lambe that the bill for the fire truck in the contracted amount of $17,559.43 be paid
to Roneys, Inc. Motion carried.
A letter from Mr. Ochner requesting a street grade on 41� Avenue in the 500 block S.
• was referred to Mr. Lawson after the Street Committee recommended that this be done.
As a result of the petitions received for -sewers in the north Edmonds area, a motion
was made by Councilman Tuson seconded by Councilman Kincaid that Resolution of
Intention #145 be passed, 4r1=N - vp LID #97 for sewers in the north end, and the Hearing
on the Preliminary Assessment Roll be held July 14. Motion carried.

The Council indicated approval of a proposed new restaurant with cocktail lounge on
Highway #99 and 228th.
Regarding an Amendment to the Salary Ordinance, a motion was made by Councilman McGibbon
and seconded by Councilman Sorensen that Emergency Ordinance #770 be adopted, and the
hearing be set for July 714. A roll call vote showed the council unanimously in favor;,
and the motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen and seconded by Councilman Tuson that Resolution
# 42 be passed, in connection with obtaining advance planning funds for "Little Metro."
Motion carried.

A motion was made by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Lambe that the bill submitted
by Reid & Associates for engineering in connection with the "Little Metro" project be paid
upon receipt of the advance planning funds from the Housing and Home Finance Agency.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Simpson that Resolution
# 43 be passed, requesting the recommendation of the Planning Commission, and setting
forth a hearing on July 21 for the vacation of Lots 1-2-3 in Block 81, City of Edmonds.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Tuson, and seconded by Councilman Kincaid that the City
of Edmonds water rates be kept at the standard year-round rates for the summer 1959-
Motion carried, 5 to 2.
It was moved by Councilman Sorensen and seconded by Councilman McGibbon that the Hearing
on the Final Assessment Roll'on

invite informal bids until July 7th for the construction of storm sewers in the Terra Park
area in connection with the work being done on LID #96. Motion carried. •
After much discussion regarding the naming of streets and house numbering in the newly
annexed areas, a motion was made by Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Tuson
that the street name plan as proposed be accepted. Motion carried, and the meeting adjourned.

Upon recommendation of the Engineer after study, a motion was made by Councilman Simpson,
seconded by Councilman McGibbon that the City accept the bid of Harold E. Olds, and the
Mayor be authorized to enter into contract with them for the work at the sum of $43,547.90.
Motion carried. •

After study and recommendation by the City Engineer, a motion was made by Councilman
Christensen and seconded by Councilman McGibbon that the bid of H. E. Olds be accepted
and the mayor be authorized to enter into contract with them for the sum of $15,585.40
for the work. Motion carried.
Hearing was held on the Petition for Annexation of Lot 2, Block 4, Alderwood Manor #9.
There were no protests and a motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman
Kincaid that Ordinance #771 be passed, to become effective July 21, 1959, annexing Lot 2,
Block 4, Alderwood Manor #9 to the City of Edmonds. Motion carried.
Hearing was held on Emergency Ordinance #770. There were no protests, and a motion was
made by Councilman Lambe, seconded by Councilman Simpson that Emergency Ordinance #770 be
passed, amending Ordinance #749, setting the salaries of the Edmonds City employeeso4e-
oemplywith the law gassed by the State Le&4 statue. —A -roll—
