Regular meeting was called to order by Mayor Maxwell with all councilmen present.
Hearing was held on the preliminary assessment roll for LID #105, Euclid Ave. sewers.
There were 2 written protests filed. Due to the newspaper having published notice of
the hearing only once, however, it was moved by Councilman Slye and seconded by Council-
man Simpson that the hearing on the preliminary assessment roll on LID #105 be re -held
on July 51h, and notices of the re -hearing date be mailed to all property owners on the
roll. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Lambe that the City hire
Air. Steve Severson to set up the new Water Dept. accounting system at a cost not to
exceed 5�500.00. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Lambe that the City accept the
bid of Richard Olson in the amount of 350.00 to remove the 2 wooden water tanks from the
1Ot'' Ave. site. Motion carried.
A check in the amount of $501.00 was received from Kenneth A. Hovde for the purchase of
the Hallie B. Anderson house on the Civic Center site.
A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that the regular
monthly bills be paid and warrants drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that the bills against
the Civic Center be paid as follows: Hall & Bennett, 81000.00; Richard C. Olson, 3102.96;
• Edmonds Tribune -Review, $27.25; and the Daily Journal of Commerce, 337.20. Motion carried.
Councilman Sorensen made a motion, seconded by Councilman Slye that the bill to McDonald
Construction Co. for $5306.56 for payment 7#3 on Fire Station #2 be paid. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Lambe that Estimate #1 on
LID #101, Glen Street paving, be paid to Washington Asphalt Co. in the amount of
$2239.88. Motion carried.
Councilman Sorensen made the motion, seconded by Councilman Simpson that the final payment
to Hale Construction Co. on LID #104, Grandview sewers, for 3786.19 be paid when aff adavits
are received that all bills against the contractor for work on the LID are paid. Motion
carried.
It was moved by Councilman Lambe, seconded by Councilman Sorensen that Ordinance 4885 be
passed. (Licensing and regulating of operators of garbage collection.) Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Simpson that
.Ordinance #886 be passed. (Expiration of cash prepayment period on LID 497.) Motion.
carried.
It was moved by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Simpson that the Attorney be
instructed to dismiss the condemnation action on the Cole property at the Civic Center
site.'^ to Motion carried.

A Petition for Annexation was received from Mr. and Mrs. Albert A. Mayer of 7307 - 228L'
S.W., Edmonds. This was returned to them because their property is not contiguous to
the City of Edmonds unless the Ballinger area petition goes through and that area becomes
annexed.
• There was no further business, and the meeting was adjourned.

Regular meeting was called to order by Mayor Maxwell with all councilmen present.
Hearing was held on the Petition for Annexation of the Lake Ballinger area. There were
a number of people involved present and no protests were received. A motion was made by
Councilman Simpson, seconded by Councilman Tuson to instruct the Attorney to draw an
Ordinance to be presented at the recessed meeting of the council on June 27, annexing
the Ballinger area covered by the petition, but excluding the Mountlake Terrace pumping
station site and also the area from 220t' to 224th , with the boundary the north line of
224='', but including the street in the annexation. Motion carried, and the hearing was
closed.
It was moved by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Lambe that the City accept.the
sewer from Mr. Quarnstrom which lies on 5th Street S.E. from east of Roberts Road, and the
attorney be instructed to draw an ordinance accepting the improvement, in accordance with
.Late Comer Agreement #1. Motion carried.
After recommendation by the Civic en6ommittee, it was moved by Councilman Simpson, seconded
by Councilman Christensen to reject all bids on the Civic Center and instruct the
architect to submit new plans and specifications. Motion carried.
