It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that September 25'
be set.as the date for a Hearing on the proposed additions to the 6 year arterial
street plan. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye to instruct
the Attorney to start proceedings to acquire Forsyth Lane with R/W to make it a 30
ft. roadway. Motion carried.
Councilman Sorensen made the motion, seconded by Councilman Slye that the Attorney
be instructed to proceed to acquire the property on the NE corner of 159 Ave. and
Fir for street purposes. Motion carried.
The Safety Committee recommended that a letter be sent from the Council to the State
Highway Dept. requesting stop and go signal lights at 5a and Dayton, 3rd and Dayton,
and 99 and Edmonds Way. Council authorized a letter to be written to this effect by
Supervisor Lawson.
It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Christensen that the City
purchase a�,4 way red light for 61A and Main, to be used in conjunction with fires, as
requested by the Safety Committee. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman Bingham that Ordinance
#941 be passed, providing for condemnation action for easements in the Ballinger LID
area. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman Harrison that contractor's
estimate # 4 on LID #1079 Admiral Way sewer, in the amount of $69969.10 be paid to
• Manor Construction Co. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman Harrison that the City Clerk
be*authorized to issue interest -bearing warrants in the total amount of $6969.10 to
Grande & Co., Inc. to cbver contractor's estimate #4 on LID #1079 Admiral Way sewer.
Motion carried.

Recessed meeting was called to order by Mayor McGinness with all councilmen present
except Sorensen and Bingham.
Hearing was held on the preliminary assessment roll for proposed LID #116, paving of
Admiral Way and Dayton Street. 14 protests were received, in the form of one letter
and one petition. Attorney Bennett figured the protests against the assessment roll
and reported to the council that they represented 15% of the entire project. Therefore,
a motion was made by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman Christensen that Ordinance
#942 be passed, creating LID #116 for paving and curbs on Admiral Way -and -Dayton Street.
Motion carried.
Hearing was then held to adopt 6 additional improvements to be added to the 6 year
arterial street program. There were no protests, and a motion was made by Councilman
Tuson, seconded by Councilman Smets that Resolution #70 be passed, adding the 6
improvements as listed to the 6 year Arterial Street Program for the City of Edmonds.
Motion carried.
• Mayor McGinness requested council approval of a $100.00 expenditure from the Mayors
expense account to participate in sedning City of Edmonds Civil Defense Director,
Warren Bradbury to Alameda, California for a Civil Defense training session. A motion
was then made by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman Harrison that this payment be
authorized. Motion carried.
Superintendent of Public Works Moran presented two separate quit claim deeds from
G. W. Robbins on Puget Lane for street purposes. It was moved by Councilman Slye,
seconded by Councilman Smets that the City accept the quit claim deeds as presented.
Motion carried.
Councilman Christensen made the motion, seconded by Councilman Smets that the new
City Attorney be instructed to draw a Resolution commending Chester Bennett for his
faithful diligence and serviee while City Attorney for the City of Edmonds. Motion
carried.
There was no further business and the meeting was adjourn

As required by law, a meeting was held for the Hearing on the Final Budget and levying
of the taxes for the year 1963. Mayor McGinness called the meeting to order with all
councilmen present.
