AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO A PEN!ON, RELIEF, DISABILITY AND RETIRE-
MENT SYSTEM; MAKING AN ELECTION TO JOIN THE STATEWIDE CITY EM-
PLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 41.44 RCW; ELECT-
ING A CHOICE OF "PRIOR fiEIVICE CREDIT", SOCIAL SECURITY COORDINATION
OR SUPPLEMENTATION; AND PROVIDING FOR PROPER NOTIFICATION OF THE
BOARD OF TRUSTEnS OF THE STATEWIDE SYSTEM OP SUCH EI.EC'TION,
HE IT ORDAINED 13Y THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS:
Section 1. That the City of Edmonds has elected and does hereby elect to
participate as a member of the Statewide City Employees Retirement System for
Pension, relief, disability and retirement for the employees of th,e City of Edmonds
as provided by Chapter 41. 44 HMV. It is the intent of this Ordinance that eleregu-
lar and full-time employees and officers of aaid City shall be included in said System;
provided, however, that other officers and employees of said City may be included
thereunder solely at the discretion of the City Council; and provided, further, that
no elective official stall be included unless said official so elects and files a written
notice of such election with the Board of Trustees of said Pension System and with
the City Clerk.
Section 2. That the number of employees and official, other than elective
officials, who shall be included a■ members of said Pension System in approximately
thirty.
Section 3. That a certified copy of this ordinance shall be transmitted to
the Board of Trustees of said Statewide Syrrtem as evidence of an election of the City
to join such Pension System.
Section 4, That the basis for prior service credit shall be .8867 per cent
of filial compensation known as One Haif Prior Service Credit` .
Section 5. That the basis for Social Security Coverage will be coordination.
Section 6. That the basis for contributions shall be Ho much of the compen-
sation of a member as does not exceed four hundred dollars per month.
Se;'tion 7. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication
in the mariner provided by law.
