ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY TO THE CITY OF EDMONDS
UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF 1945, CHAPTER 128, R.C.W. SEC.
35. 13. 130, 35. 13. 140 and 35. 13. 150, AND COMPLYING, WITH THE PROCEDURE
THEREIN SET FORTl.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS DOES ORDAIN:

Section 1. That there has been filed with the City Council a petition in writ-
ing signed by the owners of more than 75% of the assessed value of property according
to the assessed valuation of the real property described in saisl petition; that said pe-
tition sets forth a legal description of said real property; that said petition was ac-
companied by a plat or drawing outlining the boundaries of property sought to be annexed.
Section 2. That Tuesday, June 20th, 1961, was set as a date for a public
hearing on said petition; that notice of such hearing has been publirihed in the Edmonds
Tribune Review, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Edmonds; that notice
of such hearing was also posted in three public places within the territory proposed for
annexation; that said notices specified the time and place of such hearing and invited
interested persons to appear and voice approval or disapproval of the annexation; that
the expense of publishing and posting of nbtices, and all other expense of this annexa-
tion, is to be borne by the signers of the petition; that said hearing was recessed to
the 27th day of June, 1961.
Section 3. That the following described property, located in the County of
Snohomish, State of Washington, to -wit:
Beginning at a point on the City Limits .f Edmonds wt the intersection of the west
line of Primary State Highway No. 1 and the north line of 224th St. S.W.; thence
east to the in' ersection of the easterly Hine of primary State Highway No. 1 with
the north line of 224th St. S.W.;-thence east along the north line of 224th Street
• S.W. to the west line of the Pacific Northwest Traction Company RIW; thence southerly
along said west line of the Pacific Northwest Traction Company R / LV to the north line
of southeast quarter of southwest quarter of southwest quarter, sec, 29, Twp. 27 NR 4,
111 EWNM, said line being the City Limits of Mountlake Terrace under Ordinance No. 234;
thence west along said city limits to the northwest corner of aforesaid southeast quarter
of southwest quarter of southwest quarter of section 29; thence south along the city
limits line of Mountlake Terrace and said Line extended to tht: south margin of 228th
Street S.W.; thence cast along said south margin to an intersection with a Lune 16-1/2
feet westerly of and parallel to the centerline of Pacific Northwest Traction Company
R/W; thence southerly along said parallel line to the intersection of a line 120 feet
northerly and parallel to the south line of Government Lot 5, Section 32; thence east
along said parallel line and line extended to the easterly mr,,rgin of the shorelands
adjacent thereto; thence southerly and easterly along said shoreland boundary to an

intersection of the northerly production of the easterly margin of Lot 13, Block 8,
Lake Ballinger Land Company's plat Subdivision No. 1 according to plat thereof;
thence southeasterly along said lot margin to the southeast corner of said Lot 13;
thence southerly to the most westerly corner of Block 9 of above mentioned plat
of Lake Ballinger Land Company's Plat Subdivision No. 1; thence south 30 feet to
the south margin of Snohomish County; thence wv+st along said south margin to an
iattcresection with lit + easterly margin of la. S. i-1. Nn. 1; thence northerly along
said easterly margin to an intersection with the north line of 228th Street S.W.;
thence west to the intersection of 228th Street S. W. with the westerly margin of
Primary State I•iighway No. 1 and the existing City Limits of Edmonds; thence
northerly along said westerly margin of Pri.mn•lsy ate Highway No. 1 and existing

City Limits of Edmonds to the point of beginning, SS the following described tracts
constituting the site of the City of Mountlake 'i'-^_t'race Lake Ballinger Sewage Lift
Station:
A portion of lots 24 and 25 in Block 7 of Lake 13-Olinger Lund Co.'s
Plat Subdivision No. 1, recorded in volume 0 of plats on pages 57 and
G8, records of Snohomish County, Washington, described as follows:
Commencing at the southwest corner of said Lot 25 and running
thence S 88025143" east aloug the south line of said Lot 25 adistnnce
of 75 feet and thence N 47031' 15" E 14. 36 feet to an intersection
with the northerly margin of 244th St.S.W. (now 10.00 feet rorth
of and parallel with the neat' Nee of said lots) and the point of
beginning of this description; thence N 88025'43" W along said
northerly margin of 244th St. S.W. 15 feet; thence N 21043'25"
E, 03.01 feet; thence 5 88025'43" E 55 feet; thence S 47°31'15"
W 80.29 feet to the point of beginning.

A portion of Lot 25 in Block 7 of Lake Ballinger Land Co.'s Plat Sub-
divinion No. 1, recorded in volume i' of plats on pages. 57 and 58, records
of Snohomish County, Washington, d,,Hcribed as follows:
Commencing at the southwest corner of sa.ld Lot 25 and funning thence
S 88°25'431hst along the south line of said Lot 25 a distance of 75 feet
and thence N 47°31'15" E 14.38 feet to an intersection with the northerly
margin of 244th Street S.W. (now 10. 00 feet north of an.: parallel with
the south line of said lot) and the point of beginning of this descriptive;
thence continuing N 4 7 °31' 15" E 86.29 feet; thence S 1034117" W 35.00
feet; thence S 47°31'15" W 35.95 feet; thence N 88°25'43" W along said
northerly margin of 244th Street S.W., 36.18 feet to the point of
beginning;

Section 4. That pursuant to the terms of the annexation petition, the owners
of all property within the area annexed hereby are, individually and severally, to be
assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as other property in said
City of Edmonds to pay for any now outstanding indebtedness of said City, contracted
prior to, or existing at, the date of annexation.
