RESOLUiTION NO. 1
OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS
WHEFZAs, a great dead, of time and effort haS been devoted to
beginning work on the comprehensive street plan for the City of Edmonds,
and
WHEREAS, certain property owners are forcing the Planning
Commission and the City Council to take immediate action concerning
a portion of the proposed comprehensive street plan in order to save
what appears to be a logical route for 8th Avenue projected, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that something be done immediately
to protect the projected right of way for the said Eighth Avenue,and
WHEREAS, the same appears at this time to be necessary, and
advisable as a part of the general comprehensive plan,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED: That the Planning
Commission of the City of Edmonds hereby recommends to the Edmonds
City Council that 8th Avenue projected be extended by amendment of
the ordinance from Daley Street to the north city limits along the
route laid out on the map to be known as the official street map of
the City of Edmont, three copies of which are hereto attached and
made a part hereof, and three copies of which shall be attached to
the ordinance and made a part thereof, and that the width of the
said right of way for the said 8th Avenue projected be no greater
than forty feet along the entire length.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the Planning Commission further
recommends to the Edmonds City Council that immediate steps be taken
to procure the necessary funds to condemn the property known as the

Sleister property, which consists of Lot six (6) of Haggard's Addition,
as the entire tract will probably be destroyed by the extension of 8th
Avenue through the same.
