OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS
WHERE, certain property is proposed for annexation to the City of
Edmonds, effective December 16, 1958, and is in need of zoning, and
WHERE, the public hearing on the proposed zoning of the said
property hereinafter identified, was held on December 15, 1958, after proper
notice was given by posting and publication as required by law, and
WI ERF 6, the zoning of the said property will require an addition
to the official zoning map of Edmonds, Washhgton, dated December 3, 1957,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED:
That the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds hereby recom-
mends the adoption of that certain map dated December 15, 1958, file No.. 2
zoning the said property as the same appears on said map, three copies of which
map are attached hereto and made a part hereof, and three copies of which map
shall be attached to the official zoning plan and official zoning map of the City of
Edmonds and made a partthereof.
That the property to be so zoned is described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the north right of way line of 212th St. S.W.
and the west right of way line of 76th Ave. W. , thence north along the west right
of way line of 7 6th Ave. West to the south right of way line of 20 6th St. S . W . ;
thence westerly along said south right of way line to the west right of way line of
80th Ave. W. ; thence south along said west right of way line to the northeast
corner of Robert E. Thomas 2nd Addition, according to the plat thereof, records
of Snohomish County, Washington; thence west along the north line of said
Robert E. Thomas 2nd Addition Plat to the east right of way line of 82nd Ave. W. ;
thence north along the said east right of way line to a point where said right of
way line intersects the north line extended of Tract 2, Plat of East Edmonds
Acres; thence west to the northeast corner of Tract 2, said East Edmonds Acres;
thence west along the north line of said Tract 2 to the northwest corner of said
Tract 2; thence south along the west line of said Tract 2 and Tract 1, East
Edmonds Acres, to the north line of Lot 2 in Block 2, Alderwood Manor No. 9,
according to plat thereof, records of Snohomish County, Washington; thence west
along the north line of said lot 2 and lot 3, in Block 2, Alderwood Manor No. 9,
to its intersection with the easterly right of way line of Aloha Road (the present
boundary of the City of Edmonds); thence southerly along said right of way line
to intersect the north right of way line of 212th Street, S.W.; thence east along
said north right of way line to the point of beginning.
That the reasons for zoning the addition as recommended are as follows:

1. That the property identified on said map, wherein the same is zoned -
residential, R-8, is- in harmony with the property in areas adjacent to the
north, east and west, and like property already in the City of Edmonds is
zoned residential.
2. That the property zoned R-6/�s better adapted to multiple dwellings
and is contiguous to property immediately across the street which is already
zoned R-FAand such zoning will make for better development, in the opinion
of the Planning Commission.
3. That the area zoned R-C is already developed with commercial
structures, as is the area adjacent to and lying across the street southeasterly
from the proposed R-C area.
4. That the people who attended the public hearing for the most part were
in favor of the zoning as recommended by the planning commission on the map
attached hereto.
5. That the said addition, if zoned as recommended, will be in harmony
with the comprehensive plan of land use in the City of Edmonds and for logical
development of the property in accordance with good planning principles.
