RESOLUTION NO. 172
A RESOLUTION TO RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL THE DENIAL OF A PETITION TO
AMEND THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN MAP OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS BY DESIGNATING AS
COMMERCIAL CERTAIN AREA DESCRIBED IN PLANNING COMMISSION FILE NO. CP-6-66.
WHEREAS, the matter of amendment to the Comprehensive Plan Map of the
City of Edmonds by designating as "Commercial" those properties bordering
the public right-of-way on the north side of 196th Street S.W. running easterly
from 80th Ave. W. to the Edmonds City Limits came on for public hearing on
the 18th day of May, 1966 at 8:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of April, 1966, date of the first hearing of
the matter, it appeared that proper notice and publication had been effected;
and
WHEREAS, after due consideration of the proposed amendment, it appeared
that such an amendment would require a restudy of the whole area with new
Comprehensive Plan documentation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Planning Commission of the City of
Edmonds that recommendation be made to the City Council of said City that the
proposed amendment to the Comprehensive Plan, as described herein, be denied;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds
shall enter into an in-depth study of the subject area to determine the feasi-
bility of such an amendment.
