RESOLUTION NO. 179
A RESOLUTION TO RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS THE DENIAL
OF A PETITION TO REZONE FROM RS-8 (SINGLE RESIDENTIAL 8,000 SQ. FT.) TO RMH
(MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL HIGH DENSITY) THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN PLANNING
COMMISSION FILE NO. R-12-66.

WHEREAS, the 15th day of June, 1966, at 8:00 p.m., was the date and time
set for public hearing on petition to amend the Official Zoning Map of the
City of Edmonds by rezoning from RS-8 (Single Residential 8,000 sq. ft.) to
RMH (Multiple Residential High Density) certain property located on the east
side of 76th Ave. W., south of 236th Street S. W., legally described as:
All that portion of Lot 1, Block 5, Lake Ballinger Land Company's Plat,
Subdivision No. 1, according to the plat thereof recorded in Volume 9
of Plats, on pages 57 and 58, records of Snohomish County, Washington,
described as follows: Beginning at the southwest corner of said Lot 1;
thence North 0014130" E, along the West line of said Lot 1, 110.00 feet
to an intersection with a curve, from which intersection the radius point
of said curve bears S 0014130" W, 230.00 feet; thence Easterly, along th
arc of said curve, being a curve to the right having a radius of 230.00
feet and consuming a central angle of 16011'32", an arc distance of
65.00 feet to a point from which the radius point of said curve bears
S 16026102" W; thence S 81039144" E, 16.03 feet; thence N 59055118" E,
96.55 feet to an intersection with a curve, from which intersection the
radius point of said curve bears S 48011'16" W, 220.00 feet; thence
Southeasterly, along the arc of said curve, being a curve to the right
having a radius of 220.00 feet and consuming a central angle of 5028110",
said curve being 10.00 feet distant from (when measured radially) and
concentric with the Easterly line of said Lot 1, an arc distance of 21.00
feet; thence S 59155118" W, 30.88 feet; thence S 0014130" W, 115.54 feet
to an intersection with the south line of said Lot 1; thence N 89045130"
W, along said South line 150.00 feet to the true point of beginning; and
WHEREAS, at the time and date fixed for said public hearing, it appeared
that proper notice and publication had been effected; and
WHEREAS, after due consideration of present existing use and surrounding
neighborhood zoning, it was determined that in the interest of the public health,
safety, and welfare, zoning of RMH would not be consistent with the most advan-
tageous development and appropriate use of said property at this time;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Planning Commission of the City of
Edmonds that recommendation be made to the City Council of the said City that
the petition to amend the Official Zoning Map of the City of Edmonds by rezoning
from RS-8 to RMH the herein described property be denied.
