Resolution 018RESOLUTION No. 18 OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS WHEREAS, certain property is proposed for annexation to the City of Edmonds, effective .MAY 12, 1959, , and is in need of zoning, and WHEREAS, the public hearing on the proposed zoning of the said property here- inafter idenitified, was held on February 16, 1959, after proper notice was given by posting and publication as required by law, and WHEREAS, the said public hearing was continued to April 20, 1959, for study of zoning, and proper notice of the said continued hearing was also given by posting and publication as required by law, and WHEREAS, the zoning of the said property will require an addition to the compre- hensive plan of the City of Edmonds, Washington, NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED: That the planning commission of the City of Edmonds hereby recommends the adoption of that certain map dated April 20, 1958, file No. 8. 36, and zoning the said property as the same appears on said map, three copies of which map are attached hereto and made a part hereof, and three copies of which map shall be attached to the official zoning plan and official zoning map of the City of Edmonds and made a part thereof. That the property to be so zoned is described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the north line of 216th St. S.W. and the west line of 76th Ave. West; thence east 60 feet to the east margin of 76th Ave. W., thence north to the SW corner of Lot 3, Forshees' Upland Tracts, according to the plat thereof. - thence east to the SE corner of Lot 3; thence south to the SW corner of Lot 2; thence east to the SE corner of Lot 1, said plat of Forshees' Upland Tracts; thence south to the SW corner of Tract 2, Solners Five Acre Tracts, according to the recorded plat thereof; thence east along the south margin of Tracts 2, 3 and 4 to the SE corner of Tract 4; thence south along the west margin of 72nd Ave. W. 243. 76 feet; thence east 198 feet; thence south 63 feet; thence east to the west margin of State Road No. 1 (US #k99); thence southwesterly along the westerly margin of State Road No. 1 to the inter- section of the north margin of 228th St. S.W.; thence west along the said north margin to the west line of the southeast quarter of the southeast quarter of the southeast quar- ter of section 30, township 27 north, range 4 EWM; thence north along the west margin of said southeast quarter of southeast quarter of southeast quarter and said line pro- duced north to the southwest corner of the plat of Chapel Dale, according to the plat thereof; thence east 637.04 feet along the south line of said plat of Chapel Dale to the west margin of . 76th Ave. W; thence north along said west margin to point of beginning, Snohomish County, Washington (1) That the reasons for zoning the addition as recommended are as follows: 1. That the property idenitifed on said map as R-8 has heretofore been developed as a residential area, and all of the property in the adjacent area Which is already in the City of Edmonds is similarly developed and zoned. 2. That the property identified on said map as R-6A is developed as a residential area, with multiple family dwellings, and it is considered to be in the best interests of the growth and development of this area that such zoning continue. 3. That the property identified on said map as HB is commercial property, adjoining the highway, and to promote the better growth and development of such area, Highway Border zoning is considered to be in the best interests of the public. 4. That the zoning of the said property as recommended closely follows the zoning of the property as established by the Snohomish County Planning Commis- sion, and will cause no abrupt change in the use or development of the property. 5. That for the most part, the people who attended the public hearing on the propozed zoning were all in favor of the zoning as recommended by the Planning Commission on the maps hereto attached. 6. That the said addition, if zoned as recommended, will be in harmony with the general comprehensive plan of land use in the City of Edmonds. DATED this day of1959.
