A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS THE
REALIGNMENT OF THE TERMS OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION BY AMENDING SECTION
1.08.010 OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE. 'Di�- _ i

WHEREAS, the 17th day of August, 1966, at 8:00 p.m., was the date
and time set for public hearing on proposed amendment to Section 1.08.010
of the Edmonds City Code to realign the terms of the Planning Commission;
and
WHEREAS, at the time and date fixed for said public hearing, it
appeared that proper notice and publication had been effected; and
WHEREAS, due consideration was given to the proposed amendment, and
it being deemed that such amendment would provide a more equitable and
efficient method of establishing terms of office for the Planning Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Planning Commission of the City
of Edmonds that recommendation be made to the City Council of said City
that Section 1.08.010 of the Edmonds City Code be amended as follows:
111.08.010 Commission Created - Terms of Office. There is hereby
created a City Planning Commission, consisting of eleven members who shall
be selected as follows:
"Two Councilmen of the City of Edmonds shall be ex-officio members
of the Commission during the period of their incumbency in such offices; the
other nine members shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City
Council.
"The term of the nine members appointed by the Mayor shall be six years,
provided, that in order that the fewest terms will expire in any one year,
the terms of the first appointive members shall expire on the annual anni-
versary date of the effective date of this section as follows:

"Vacancies occurring otherwise than through the expiration of terms
shall be filled for the unexpired terms. Members may be removed, after

public hearing, by the Mayor, with the -approval of the City Council, for
inefficiency, neglect of duty.or malfeasance in office.. The members shall
be selected without respect to political affiliations and they shall serve
without compensation."
