A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF EDIONDS RECOMMENDING A STREET
PATTERN IN THE AREA BOUNDED BY 172N D STREET SOUTHWEST RIGHT-OF-WAY ON
THE NORTH, 68TH AVENUE WEST ON THE EAST AND MEADOWDALE BEACH ROAD ON
THE !'JEST AND SOUTH. (ST-1-76)
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds
pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing to
review the official street pattern in the area bounded by 172nd
Street right-of-way on the north, 68th Avenue West on the east
and Meadowdale Beach Road on the west and south, and
WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the Planning Commission
to review access alternatives due to the problems associated with 172nd
from the west approach,
WHEREAS, the property to the south of 172nd Street right-
of-way is undeveloped and any established street pattern would limit
development alternatives, and
WHEREAS, access to properties to the north of 172nd Street
right-of-way is accessible along the right-of-way at a reasonable slope
established to be 14% with access from the east, and
WHEREAS, access along the established rights -of -way would
minimize additional acquisition requirements, and
WHEREAS, many alternative street configurations were
considered and the alternative with access from the east along 172nd
Street S.W. right-of-way extending approximately 200 feet from 68th
Avenue West was considered to provide the best access with the least
adverse effects, shown -in Exhibit "A" attached, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that recommendation be as hereby is made
to the Ci t,y Council of the Ci tv of Edmonds that the recommended street
pattern be approved.
