A RESOLUTION TO RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS THE DENIAL
OF A PETITION TO REZONE FROM SINGLE RESIDENTIAL 8,000 SQ. FT. (RS-8) TO MULTIPLE
RESIDENTIAL LOW DENSITY (RML) THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN PLANNING
COMMISSION FILE NO. R-20-66.
W,i£REAS, the 16th day of November, 1966, at 800 p.m., was the date and
time set for public hearing on petitiaa to amend the Official. Zoning Hap of
the City of Edmonds by rezoning frow S ngaa ka idential 8,000 Ft. (RS-8) to
Multiple Residential Low Density (R-Mi) cas Lain pvoperty located on Maplewood
Road south of 196th S.W., and legally described a6s
Lots 5 and 6, Johnnon Garden Tracts, according to the plat thertof
r6c ordad in Volumo 17 of .Plats, page 336 records of Snoho-.,n _sh Coe---ty,
Washington; and
WF'EREAS, at the time and date fixed for said public hearing, it appeared
that proper notice and publication had been effected; and
MHERLA,S, at said tire and date the petitioners reequeated that consider-
ation be given to a rezone to Residential Duplex (RD) rather than Multiple
Residential Low Density; and
WHEREAS, after due cousideeration .of present sxstins .use and suaraurtding
neighborhood zoning, kc waz determined that in the Interest of thee, public healthq
safeety, and welfare, zoning classification of RD would not be consistent f:.ith
the most appropriate use of said property, in that it would extend and Latrudae
into a singles residential areal
