RESOLUTION NO. 528
A RECOMMENDATION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING
DENIAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL STREET MAP OF THE CITY'OF
EDMONDS TO REMOVE PORTION OF 6TH AVENUE SOUTH BETWEEN EXISTING CUL-DE-SAC
AND THE NORTHERLY DEAD-END OF 6TH AVENUE SOUTH SERVING PARADISE LANE

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds
pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing on
a proposal to amend the Official Street Map to remove portion of 6th
Avenue South between existing cul-de-sac and the northerly dead-end
of 6th Avenue South serving Paradise Lane; and
WHEREAS, 6th Avenue South should remain on the Official
Street Map in order to provide alternative routes of emergency vehic-
ular access; and
WHEREAS, retention of 6th Avenue South on the Official
Street Map provides access for those residents in the vicinity of
Paradise Lane, more direct access to the north and the downtown -of
Edmonds; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission recommends
and forwards to the City Council of the City of Edmonds that the
proposed amendment to the Official Street Map to remove portion of
6th Avenue South between existing cul-de-sac and the northerly dead-
end of 6th Avenue South serving Paradise Lane as set forth in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto, be denied.
