RESOLUTION NO. 225
A RESOLUTION TO RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS THE DENIAL
OF PETITION TO AMEND THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN MAP OF SAID CITY BY DESIGNATING AS
"MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL" THAT PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN PLANNING COMMISSION FILE
NO. CP-1-67.
WHEREAS, the 15th day of March, 1967, at 6:00 p.m., was the date and time
set for public hearing on petition to amend the Official Comprehensive Plan Map
of the City aR Edmonds by changing than designationp of the area surrounding the
Lyniwood Sewer Treatane;.at Plaint from Single Family Residential to Multi -Family
Residential, said area being located westerly of 76th Avw4 W, at Brown's Bay,
and
WHEREAS, at the time and "te fixed for said public bearing, it appeared
that proper notice and publication had been effectedl and
WHEREAS, after- due consideration of present use and surr-c=ding neighbor -
mood zoaiag, it was dsterminead that the said area should retain its designation
of singles family residential, it having been found that no streets serve the
tidelands in the area, that severe soil and topographic e(mditions exist in
the area, that odors from the treatment plant may adversely affect residential
development, and that until supplemental land uses, transportation, and public
facilities &-re ,adequately planned through a thorough study of this and the
surrounding City -County area, the need for multi -family districts within this
area of the city could not be justified;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Planning Commission of the City of
rd=)nds that recomendatioD be made to the City Council of said City that
the .heareinabove described request for amendment of the Official Comprehensive
Plan Map of the City of Edmonds be denied.
