Resolution 231PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 231 A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING THE AMENDMENT OF THE OFFICIAL COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OF SAID CITY BY INCLUDING THEREIN AND DESIGNATING ON THE LAND USE PLAN THEREOF AS COMMERCIAL THAT PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN PLANNING COMMISSION FILE NO. CP-5-67 AND ANNEXED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1281. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds, pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing on a proposed amendment to the Official Comprehensive Plan of said City for including therein and designating on the Land Use Plan thereof as Commercial the real property described in Planning Commission File No. CP-5-67 and annexed by Ordinance No. 1281; and WHEREAS, having made the findings set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, the Planning Commission determined that the real property described in Exhibit "BI attached hereto should be designated "Commercial"; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of said City that recommendation be and the same hereby is made to said City Council that the property described in Exhibit "B" atached hereto be included in the Comprehensive Plan and designated "Commercial" on the Land Use Map. The area containing the subject annexation adjoins U. S. Highway No. 99 and was zoned in the County for general commercial uses. The character of development in this area is predominantly com- mercial in nature. 2. U. S. Highway No. 99 is a heavily traveled highway carrying large numbers of commercial truck, tourist, and other types of traffic. EXHIBIT "B" Those portions of Tracts 1 and 2, Block 32, Hanbury's Sound View Tracts, according to plat thereof recorded in Volume 7 of plats, Page 20, records of Snohomish County, Washington, described as follows: (a) The south 125 feet of said Tract 1, EXCEPT portions thereof conveyed to the State of Washington for public road and highway purposes by deeds filed for record under auditor's file Nos. 350605 and 895805. (b) Beginning at the Southeast corner of said Tract 2, thence north 0015' West along the East line of said Tract, 125 feet; thence South 89045' West 63 feet; thence South 0015' East 56 feet; thence Southeasterly, in a straight line, to a point on the South line of said Tract 2 that is 34 feet Westerly of the Southeast corner thereof; thence Easterly, along the said South line 34 feet to the point of beginning. EXCEPT from the above described parcels (a) and (b) any portions thereof lying within the north 175 feet of said Tracts 1 and 2. Together with the public right-of-way area north of Snohomish County, King County line known as 244th Street S.W. lying south of the above described tract and all of public right-of-way area known as Primary State Highway No. 1 lying contiguous to the above described tract and existing Edmonds City Limits.
