RESOLUTION NO. 235
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING
THE DENIAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF SAID
CITY BY DESIGNATING AS MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL, LOW DENSITY (RML) THE
PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN PLANNING COMMISSION FILE NO, R-4-67.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds,
pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing on
a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of said City for
redesignating the real property described in Planning Commission File
No. R-4-67 from Single Residential 8,000 Sq. Ft. (RS-8) to Multiple
Residential Low Density (RML); and
WHEREAS, having made the findings set forth in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto, the Planning Commission determined that the real
property described in Exhibit "B" attached hereto should not be
redesignated; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of said City that
recommendation be and the same hereby is made to said City Council
that the proposed amendment be denied.

FINDINGS:
The local residents strongly oppose the proposed rezone which would be
surrounded on three sides by single family zone. The industrial use
(Evergreen Industries) adjoining the west side of the subject tract is
a poor neighbor to single family development and would be even worse
for multi -family development. The proposed rezoning does not conform to
the Land Use portion of the Comprehensive Plan.
