RESOLUTION NO. 236
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING
THE DENIAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF SAID
CITY BY DESIGNATING AS SINGLE RESIDENTIAL 12,000 SQ. FT. THAT PROPERTY
DESCRIBED IN PLANNING COMMISSION FILE NO. R-5-67.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds,
pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing on
a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of said City for
redesignating the real property described in Planning Commission
File No. R-5-67, from Single Residential 20,000 Sq. Ft. (RS-20) to
Single Residential 12,000 Sq. Ft. (RS-12); and
WHEREAS, having made the findings set forth in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto, the Planning Commission determined that the real
property described in Exhibit "B" attached hereto should not be
redesignated; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of said City that
recommendation be and the same hereby is made to said City Council
that the proposed amendment be denied.

FINDINGS:

The existing zoning is based on preceding county zoning and slope
characteristics of the.area. The proposal is in conflict with the
Generalized Land Use Plan, Figure 4, Supplement to the Comprehensive Plan,
1965. The proposal does not constitute a logical extension of the
RS-12 zone and no valid reasons are apparent to support the change.

Beginning 167 feet South of NW corner Tract 139, Meadowdale Beach;
thence Southerly 126 feet; thence Easterly 230 feet; thence Northerly 126
feet thence Westerly 230 feet to the True Point of Beginning.
Together with a non-exclusive easement for ingress and egress over
the North 12 feet of the South 341.00 feet of Tract_139, plat of
Meadowdale Beach, EXCEPT the West 230 feet thereof and EXCEPT the
East 270.23 feet.
