RESOLUTION NO. 237
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING THE
ADOPTION OF A COMPREHENSIVE STREET PLAN, RE -ADOPTION OF PREVIOUSLY ADOPTED
STREET AND THOROUGHFARE PLANS AND MAPS, REGULATION OF SETBACKS AND FRONT
YARDS FROM EXISTING AND PROPOSED STREETS AND THOROUGHFARES, ADOPTION OF AN
OFFICIAL STREET MAP, PROVISION FOR STREET REGULATION PROCEDURES AND ADMINI-
STRATION, PROVISION FOR VARIANCES AND SPECIAL EXCEPTIONS, DESIGNATION OF
PROPOSED STREET WIDENINGS, SETTING -OF APPLICATION FEES, ESTABLISHMENT OF
AMENDMENT PROCEDURES, PROVISION FOR PENALTIES AND REPEAL OF CHAPTER 12.03
OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE EXCEPT WHEREIN SPECIFICALLY RE -ADOPTED OR AMENDED,
ALL AS SET FORTH IN PLANNING COMMISSION FILE NO. CP-4-67. .,
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds, pursuant
to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing on the adoption of
a new Official Street Map and revised Street Ordinance, said Map being
identified as the Official Street Map, File No. 1.559, and consisting of
eighteen drawings, sheets 1 through 17, plus an index sheet; and
WHEREAS, having made the findings set forth in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto, and having revised and prepared the final Street Ordinance and Official
Street Map; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds
that said Street Ordinance and Official Street Map be recommended for adop-
tion and passage by the City Council of the City of Edmonds; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that recommendation be made to the City
Council of the City of Edmonds that said City Council take action as required
to fully integrate said Official Street Map and Street Ordinance into the
Edmonds City Code.

FINDINGS:
The Comprehensive Street Plan, consisting of a Street Ordinance
and Official Street Map, is a necessary part of the Comprehensive Plan for
the best development of the City. This street plan is essential for
establishing adequate rights -of -way for utilitarian purposes, for
promoting the coordinated development of streets and for establishing
the basis of uniform building setbacks along the streets.
