RESOLUTION NO. 547
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING
DENIAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY
OF EDMONDS TO REZONE FROM RS-8 (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL, 8,000 SQUARE
FEET) TO RM (MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL) CERTAIN PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT
"A" OF PLANNING COMPASSION FILE #R-1-77
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds, pursuant
to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing on a proposed
amendment to the Official Zoning Map to rezone from RS-8 (Single Family
Residential 8,000 square feet) to RM (Multiple Residential) certain
property described in Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, the land utilized for multiple dwelling purposes is
less than one-half of that totally zoned in the City, there is not a
demonstrated need for multiple zoned property; and
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Policy Plan statement in regard to
Residential Development Policies reads as follows: "Protect residential
areas from incompatible land uses through the careful control of other
types of development and expansion"; and
WHEREAS, the patterns and conditions of the streets are
inadequate to meet the demands in the vicinity of -the proposed rezone;
NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED that recommendation be and the same hereby
forwarded to the City Council of the City of Edmonds that the proposed
rezone amendment to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Edmonds be
denied.
