Resolution 551PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 551 A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOIVMNDING DENIAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO REDUCE THE ALLOWABLE DWELLING UNIT DENSITIES IN RM ZONES AS SET FORTH IN FILE f ZO-1-77 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds, pursuant to proper notice and publication, held•a public hearing on a proposal to amend the Zoning Ordinance to reduce the allowable dwelling unit densities in RM Zones; and WHEREAS, the increased lot area required per dwelling unit could raise the cost of multiple housing by increasing land costs; and WHEREAS, the requirement of additional lot area per dwelling unit in multiple family zones would substantially alter the conditions governing development; and WHEREAS, there was minimal public sentiment expressed to decrease the density of dwelling units in multiple family zones; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission recommends and forwards to the City Council of said City, that the proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, be denied.
