RESOLUTION NO. 553
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS
RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE
ZONING CODE TO ALLOW A CARETAKER DWELLING UNIT IN CG
ZONES AS SET FORTH IN FILE #ZO-3-77
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of
Edmonds, pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a
public hearing on a proposal to amend the Zoning Code to
allow a caretaker dwelling unit in General Commercial (CG)
Zones; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Code does not permit a
residential dwelling unit in a CG Zone; and
WHEREAS, certain uses, specifically mini -
warehouses, need a caretaker dwelling unit to provide
twenty-four hour security on the site; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has determined
that this amendment is needed to meet changing needs in
the community; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission
recommends and forwards to the City Council of said City,
that the proposed amendment to the Zoning Code as set forth
in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, be adopted.

36. Caretaker Dwelling Unit - Permitted with a,
Conditional -Use Permit provided it is ancillary,to the
principal permitted use on the site and limited to 10%
of the site area. Only one (1) dwelling per site is
permitted.
