RESOLUTION NO. 566
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS
RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE
SECTIONS 12.12.050 AND 12.13.110 OF THE ZONING CODE TO
ALLOW DETACHED DWELLING UNITS ON MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL
DWELLING SITES AS SET FORTH IN FILE #ZO-7-77
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of
Edmonds, pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a
public hearing on a proposal to amend the Sections 12.12.050
and 12.13.110 of the Zoning Code to allow detached dwelling
units on multiple residential dwelling sites; and
WHEREAS, the present code does not permit detached
structures with less than three units on the same lot with an
apartment building without attaching the buildings; and
WHEREAS, the existing code requirement creates an
architecturally awkward design with unnecessary roof lines
and trelllaes connecting the buildings; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission
recommends and forwards to the City Council of said City,
that the proposed amendment to the Zoning Code as set forth
in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, be adopted.

12.12.050 "D" terms.
DWELLING, MULTI -FAMILY. "Hulti-family dwelling" means
a building or building complex designed to, house three or
more families living independently of each other and having
one yard in common.
12.13.110 Primary uses in RII districts.
(a) Multiple family dwellings; apartments, cooperatives. -
condominiums; provided further a dwelling unit or units may
be located in detached buiZdings, subject .to Amenities Design
Board. approvaZ.
