RESOLUTION NO. 269
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING
THE DENIAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF SAID
CITY TO DESIGNATE AS SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENCE THAT PROPERTY DESCRIBED
IN PLANNING COMMISSION FILE NO. R-17-67.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds, at
the request of the City Council of said City, and pursuant to proper
notice and publication, held a public hearing to reconsider a proposed
amendment to the Official Zoning Map of said City for redesignating
the real property described in Planning Commission File No. R-17-67
from Multiple -Residential Low Density, Multiple -Residential High
Density, and Residential Duplex (RML, RMH, and RD) to Single -Family
Residence; and
WHEREAS, having reconsidered the matter in the light of a
different concept in planning and zoning from that projected by the
Comprehensive Plan of the City of Edmonds, and having made the findings
set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, the Planning Commission
determined that the real property described in Exhibit "B" attached
hereto should not be redesignated; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of said City that
recommendation be and the same hereby is made to the City Council of
the City of Edmonds that the proposed amendment be denied.

The proposed zoning does not conform to the Comprehensive Plan
since the Plan shots both sides of 196th St. S. W. to be developed
for apartments between the east city limits and Stith Avenue H.
The establishment of single family zoning would be inconsistent
with the action taken on the preceding case, CP-8-67.
