Resolution 283PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 283 A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING THE DENIAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY TO DESIGNATE AS SINGLE RESIDENTIAL 12,000 SQUARE FEET (RS-12) THAT PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN PLANNING COMMISSION FILE NO. R-6-68 AND PRESENTLY ZONED SINGLE RESIDENTIAL 20,000 SQUARE FEET (RS-20). WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds, pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing on a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of said City for redesignating the real property described in Planning Commission File No. R-6-68 from Single Residential 20,000 Sq. Ft. (RS-20) to Single Residential 12,000 Sq. Ft. (RS-12); and WHEREAS, having made the findings set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, the Planning Commission determined that the real property described in Exhibit "B" attached hereto should not be redesignated; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of said City that recommendation be and the same hereby is made to said City Council that the proposed amendment be denied. Because of the steep topography, storm, drainage and soil erosion have created severe problems during past years. To increase the permitted residential density would encourage water pollution and storm drainage problems. Tracts 71 and 72, Plat of Meadowdale Beach, and Tract 84, except the following described tract: Beginning at the Southeast corner of said Tract 84; thence North 180 feet; thence West on a line parallel to the North line to a point on the West line of said tract; thence South and East along the Southerly boundary to the Point of Beginnings as per Plat recorded in Volume 5 of Plats, page 38, records of Snohomish County, Washington.
