EXHIBIT "A'
The cemetery is presently a legal, non -conforming use in the
Open Space zone. Large sections of the property are vacant and the
owner wishes to expand the cemetery use into these vacant areas.
However, such action is not permitted under the present zoning. The
Open Space zone is a unique type of district designed to protect
flood plains, watersheds, agricultural fields, etc. Flew, if any,
of these uses are found in an urban area such as Edmonds. Therefore,
the legal basis and need for this type of zone can be seriously
questioned.
Beginning 30 feet West of the Southeast corner of the Southeast
Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter; thence
North 590 feet; thence West 628 feet; thence South 590 feet; thence
East to the Point of Beginning. Containing 8.5 acres. Situated
in Section 25, Township 27 North, Range 3 East, W. M., Snohomish
County, Washington.
