Resolution 286PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 286 A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING THE DENIAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY TO DESIGNATE AS COMMUNITY BUSINESS (BC) THAT PROPERTY PRESENTLY ZONED SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL 6,000 SQUARE FEET (RS-6) AND LEGALLY DESCRIBED IN PLANNING COMMISSION FILE NO. R-8-68. WHEREAS, the Planning Connission of the City of Edmonds, pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing on a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of said City for redesignating the real property described in Planing Commission File No. R-8-68 from Single Family Residential 6,000 Square Feet (RS-6) to Commudty Business (BC); and whereas, having made the findings set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, the Planning Commission determined that the real property described in Exhibit "B" attached hereto should not be redesignated; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of said City that recommendation be and the same hereby is made to said City Council that the proposed amendment be denied. The proposal would increase the potential amount of traffic on Holly Drive, which, in its present condition, is inadequate to handle even the existing traffic generated by the small, single-family neighborhood which it serves. The narrow street width also creates a traffic hazard for persons entering Holly Drive from 5th Avenue South. TW- TRTT uRn Portion of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 25, Township 27 North, Range 3 East, W.M., described as follows: Commencing at a point 99 feet South of the Northwest corner of the Northwest Quarter of Section 25, Township 27 Vorth, Range 3 East, W.M., thence running East 150 feet, which is the True Point of Beginning; thence continuing almg the sane line East 70 feet; thence running South 174 feet; thence running West 70 feet; thence running north 174 feet back to the True Point of Beginning. EXCEPT: The North 25 feet conveyed to the City of Edmonds.
