RESOLUTION NO. 297
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING
THE DENIAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF SAID
CITY TO REZONE FROM SINGLE RESIDENTIAL 89000 SQUARE FEET (RS-8) TO
MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL, LOW DENSITY (RML) THAT PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN
PLANNING COMMISSION FILE NO. R-20-68.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds,
pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing on
a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of said City to
redesignate the real property described in Planning Commission File
No. R-20-68 from Single Residential 8,000 Square Feet (RS-8) to
Multiple Residential, Low Density (RML); and
WHEREAS, having made the findings set forth in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto, the Planning Commission determined that the real
property described in Exhibit "B" attached hereto should not be
redesignated; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of said City that
recommendation be and the same hereby is made to said City Council
that the proposed amendment be denied.

EXHIBIT "A"
Two similar proposals for this property have been denied by the
City in past years, the last action occurring,in 1967. The need for
this apartment development is not yet indicated as eight acres of
vacant, apartment zoned property still exist within the immediate
vicinity. Adequate utilities are not available at the present time.
Many residents opposed the proposal.

Lots 5 and 6. Block 1, Alderwood Manor No. 9, Except that portion
of Lot 5 platted as Rowes Addition No. 2, and Except that portion
of Lots 5 and 6 now zoned Multiple Residential Low Density (RML).
