A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY.COUNCIL OF THE.CITY OF EDMONDS RECOM-
MENDING.DENIAL TO A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING
ORDINANCE WHICH WOULD REMOVE THE.TERM "DISTRIBUTION CENTERS
AND ACCESSORY STORAGE" FROM THE LIST OF PERMITTED USES IN THE
BC, CW AND IP ZONES, IN ACCORDANCE WITH PLANNING.COMMISSION
FILE NO. ZO-5-69 - ITEM 1
WHEREAS, the.Planning Commission of the City of
Edmonds, pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a
public hearing on a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning
Ordinance which would remove the term "Distribution Centers
and Accessory Storage" from the.list of permitted uses in the
BC, CW and IP Zones; and
WHEREAS, having made the findings set forth in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto, the.Planning Commission deter-
mined that the amendment should not be made; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of said
City that recommendation be and the same hereby is made to
said City Council that the.proposed amendment be denied.

It cannot be proven that the proposed amendment would
achieve a desirable goal in regulating truck volumes
in downtown Edmonds. The removal of the term "distri-
bution centers, etc." would impose an unfair burden on
some property owners without providing a benefit to
the public interest.
