A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY.COUNCIL OF THE CITY.OF EDMONDS RECOMMEND-
ING DENIAL TO.THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO.THE OFFICIAL ZONING ORDI-
NANCE ALLOWING PETROLEUM PRODUCTS STORAGE; DISTRIBUTION AND.MANU-
FACTURING AS A PERMITTED USE IN THE INDUSTRIAL PARK ZONE,.IN ACCORD-
ANCE WITH.PLANNING COMMISSION FILE NO. ZO-5-69, ITEM 4
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the.City of Edmonds,
pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing on
a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Ordinance of said City
to clarify the status of petroleum products storage, distribution
and manufacturing facilities by.allowing such facilities outright.
in the.Industrial Park Zone (IP Zone); and
WHEREAS, having made the findings set.forth in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto, the.Planning Commission determined that amend-
ment should not be made; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of said City
that recommendation be and the.same hereby is made to said City
Council that the.proposed amendment be denied.

EXHIBIT "A"
A City board or agency should review proposals to
expand petroleum products plants in order to guaran-
tee the public health,'safety & welfare. The exist-
ing ordinance requiring Board of Adjustment review of
such proposals in addition to site plan review by the
Planning Commission gives to the.City the necessary
right of review for proposals of such major 'importance.
