RESOLUTION NO. 637
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING
APPROVAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL, ZONING MAP FOR A
CONTRACT PREZONE TO COMMERCIAL WATERFRONT (CW) AND OPEN SPACE (OS) THE
PROPERTY BOUNDED ON THE NORTH AND EAST BY THE CITY OF EDMONDS , ON
THE WEST BY PUGET SOUND, AND ON THE SOUTH BY THE TOWN OF WOODWAY, AS
SET FORTH IN FILE #R-11-79
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds,
after proper notice, held a public hearing on a proposed amendment to
the Official Zoning Map for a contract prezone to Commercial Waterfront
(CW) and Open Space (OS) the property bounded on the north and east by
the City of Edmonds, on the west by Puget Sound, and on the south by
the town of Woodway, as set forth in File DER-11-79; and
WHEREAS, the proposed zoning conforms to the Comprehensive
Plan; and
WHEREAS, the prezone is necessary in order for the property
to be annexed to the Clty; and
WHEREAS, the proposed zoning will allow continuation of the
use of the upper property for petroleum storage and distribution; and
will protect the marsh portion of the property; and
WHEREAS, there is a finding of no significant adverse
environmental impact on the proposed amendment; and
WHEREAS, said amendment is necessary to promote the public
health, safety and general welfare; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission recommends and
forwards to the City Council of Edmonds, that the proposed amendment to
the Official Zoning Map as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached, be
approved.
