Resolution 338PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 338 A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOM- MENDING THAT CERTAIN PROPERTIES DESCRIBED IN PLANNING COMMISSION FILE NO. AZ-1-70 AND PRESENTLY UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF SNOHOMISH COUNTY BE REZONED TO CG, GENERAL COMMERCIAL, AND RML, MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL, LOW DENSITY, IN THE EVENT SUCH PROPERTIES ARE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF EDMONDS. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds, pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing{ to establish City zoning classifications on the real property des- cribed in Planning Commission File No. AZ-1-70 in the event of annexation; and WHEREAS, having* made the findings set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, the Planning Commission determined that the real property described in Exhibit "B" attached hereto should be rezoned from County General Commercial (GC) to Edmond's General Commercial (CG) and from County Multiple Residence (MR) to Edmond's !Multiple Residential, Low Density (RML); therefore, BE IT RESOLVED that recommendation be and the same hereby is made to said City Council that the proposed zoning classifica- tions be approved. Resolution No. 338 EXHIBIT "A" The subject area proposed for General Commercial zoning is pre- dominately developed with commercial uses at the present time. The Comprehensive Land Use Plan proposes "Commercial" develop- ment of this area. The subject area proposed for Multiple Residential, Low Density, is presently vacant and zoned for apartments by Snohomish County. The Commission considered the following factors in determining the proposed zoning: The Comprehensive Plans of Edmonds and Mountlake Terrace, current City policies regarding apartment zoning, the zoning and development on adjoining properties, street and utility systems, etc. It is the Commission's belief that RML zoning is more appropriate than any other type of district. EXHIBIT "B" Description of area to be zoned General Commercial (CG) The west half of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 29, Township 27, Range 4 East, W.M., lying east of U. S. 99 (Primary State Highway No. 1) and the west 16'5 feet of the southeast quarter of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 29, Township 27, Range 4E, W.M. Description of area to be zoned Residential Multiple, Low Density (RML) The west half of the southeast quarter of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 29, Township 27, Range 4 East, W.M., less the west 165 feet.
