RESOLUTION NO. 641
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING
APPROVAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP TO
DESIGNATE AS RS-8 (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL - 8,000 SQUARE FEET) THE
AREA KNOWN AS 74TH AVENUE WEST (NORTHWEST TRACTION COMPANY RAILWAY
RIGHT-OF-WAY AS SET FORTH IN FILE #R-10-79
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds,
pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing on
a proposal to amend the Official Zoning Map to designate RS-8 (Single
Family Residential - 8,000 square feet) the area known as 74th Avenue
West (Northwest Traction Company Railway right-of-way) as set forth
in File #R-10-79; and
WHEREAS the designation of this property as RS-8 is
consistent with the existing land use of the site and the zoning and
use of adjacent properties.
WHEREAS, it is compatible with the Edmonds Policy Plan; and
WHEREAS, the property is currently not under a zoning
classification which is needed for administration by the City; and
WHEREAS, there is a finding of no significant adverse
environmental impact on the proposed amendment; and
WHEREAS, said amendment is necessary to promote the
public health, safety and general welfare; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission recommends and
forwards to the City Council of said City, that the proposed amendment
to the Official Zoning Map as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto,
be approved. N
