Resolution 649PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 649 A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL STREET MAP TO REMOVE THE PROPOSED CUL-DE-SAC AT THE NORTH END OF 6TH AVENUE SOUTH, NORTH OF PARADISE LANE, AND ALSO TO AMEND THE OFFICIAL STREET MAP AND VACATE A PORTION OF THE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF 6TH AVENUE SOUTH WHICH EXTENDS SOUTH OF ELM STREET AS SET FORTH IN FILE #ST-1-80. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds, pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing on the amendment to the Official Street Map to remove the proposed cul-de-sac at the north end of 6th Avenue South, north of Paradise Lane, and also to amend the Official Street Map and vacate a portion of the right-of-way of 6th Avenue South, south of Elm Street as set forth in File #ST-1-80; and WHEREAS, the Planning and Public Works Departments have determined that the development of the proposed cul-de-sac is impractical due to the steepness of the terrain and that future development can be accommodated on the portion of 6th Avenue South, south of Elm Street, which will be remaining after the vacation of a portion of that right-of-wav; and WHEREAS, there is a finding of no significant adverse environmental impact on these actions; and WHEREAS, said amendments and vacation are necessary to promote the public health, safety and general welfare; now therefore BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission recommends and forwards to the City Council of said City, that the proposed amendments to the Official Street Map and street vacation as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, be approved.
