A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF
A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO SECTION 12.14' OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE PROHIBITING THE
PARKING OR STORING OF MORE THAN ONE COMMERCIAL VEHICLE OR ANY COMMERCIAL VEHICLE
OVER 10,000 POUNDS LICENSED GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT IN ANY "R" ZONED DISTRICT WITHOUT
A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AND AMENDING SECTION 8.48.180(B) TO PROHIBIT CERTAIN VEHICLES
OVER 10,000 POUNDS LICENSED GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT FROM PARKING ON RESIDENTIAL STREETS
BETWEEN MIDNIGHT AND 6 A.M. AS SET FORTH IN FILE #ZO-1-80
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds, pursuant to proper
notice and publication, held a public hearing on a proposal to amend Section 12.14
of the Edmonds City Code prohibiting the parking or storing of more than one commercial
vehicle or any commercial vehicle over 10,000 pounds licensed gross vehicle weight in any
"R" zoned district -without a Conditional Use Permit and amending Section 8.48.180(B) to
prohibit certain vehicles over 10;000 pounds licensed gross vehicle weight from parking on
residential streets between midnight and 6 a.m.;
WHEREAS, the unregulated parking of large motor vehicles in residential zones
detracts from the residential character of the area, contributes to increased noise
and is thus detrimental to the public health, safety and welfare; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission recommends and forwards to the
City Council of said City, that the proposed amendment to Section'12.14_.of the
Edmonds City Code be approved.
