Many citizens have expressed. the. desire at numerous
public hearings:for narrower. residential access street.
standards. The.City has adopted'.several standards for
arterial streets and it is reasonable to do the.same
for residential streets. It is the.opinion of the.Com-
mission that the.proposed.standards would provide ade
quate safety and mobility for the.motorist and would
promote the.quality of residential neighborhoods.
