RESOLUTION NO. 357
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING AN AMENDMENT TO THE COMPREHENSIVE THOROUGHFARE PLAN TO ESTABLISH A
RECREATION STREET SYSTEM, AS SET FORTH IN PLANNING COMMISSION FILE No. CP-1-71.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds,
pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a pubic hearing to
amend the Comprehensive Thoroughfare Plan of said city to establish a
Recreation Street System, as described in Planning Commission File
No. CP-1-71; and,
WHEREAS, having made the findings set forth in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto, the Planning Commission determined that the Compre-
hensive Thoroughfare Plan should be amended to include the four rec-
reation street systems (foot paths, bicycle paths, bridle trails and
scenic streets) as shorn on Exhibit 1B11; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of said City that
reconsaendation be and the same hereby is made to said City Council
that the proposed amendment to the Comprehensive Thoroughfare Plan be
approved.

A recreation street system should be established to promote the health
and :elfare of the citizens of Edmonds by providing a place for pedes-
trians, bicyclists and equOstriane. In addition, such a system would
:)rcxncte the citizens' and appreciation of the beautiful areas

from its streets NOW exceptional views may be enjoyed of the vast
spaces of Puget Sound and the tJlympic Peninsular to the crest. Residents
and visitors should be assisted in viewing these, fine scenes through the
establishment of a recreational street system.
