RESOLUTION NO. 362
A RESOLUTION TO.THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING
DENIAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE.OFFICIAL ZONING ORDINANCE RE-
VOKING THE PLANNED RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT PROVISIONS, AS SET FORTH
IN PLANNING COMMISSION FILE NO. ZO-6-71.
WHEREAS, the.Planning Commission of the.City of Edmonds,
pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing
on a proposal to amend the Official Zoning Ordinance revoking the
Planned Residential Development provisions, and
WHEREAS, having made the.findings set forth in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto, the.Planning Commission determined that the.Offi-
cial Zoning Ordinance should not be amended; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED.by.the.Planning Commission of said City
that recommendation be and the.same hereby is made to said City
Council that the proposed amendment be.denied.

EXHIBIT "A"
There are other ways of designing residential areas besides the.
standard lot -by -lot arrangement and the.design alternatives allowed.
by the.Planned Residential Development provisions can be.used.to
create unusual and interesting residential neighborhoods. The
provisions encourage the preservation of open.space and the.develop-
ment of play areas as part of each small residential area. For
these reasons the.PRD provisions should be retained.
