Resolution 379PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION'NO. 379 A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOM- MENDING DENIAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY TO REZONE FROM SINGLE RESIDENTIAL, 12,000 SQUARE FEET (RS-12) TO SINGLE RESIDENTIAL, 20,000 SQUARE FEET (RS-20) THAT PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN PLANNING COMMISSION FILE NO. R-2-72. WHEREAS the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds, pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hear- ing on a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of said City to redesignate the real property described in Planning Commission File No. R-2-72 from Single Residential 12,000 square feet (RS-12) to Single Residential 20,000 square feet (RS-20); and WHEREAS, having made the findings set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, the Planning Commission determined that the rezoning of the real property described in Exhibit "B" attached hereto should be denied; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that recommendation be and the same hereby is made to the City Council of the City of Edmonds that the proposed amendment be.denied. Resolution No. 379 EXHIBIT "A" The petitioners do not represent a majority of property owners in the.subject area. Generally the City has followed the policy that the more level or gently sloping areas of the City, such as this subject rezone area should be zoned for lots 12,000 square feet or smaller, while the more steeply sloping areas should be zoned RS-20.
