A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING
DENIAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF SAID
CITY TO REZONE FROM SINGLE RESIDENTIAL, 8,000 SQUARE FEET (RS-8) TO
GENERAL COMMERCIAL (CG) THAT PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN PLANNING COMMIS-
SION FILE NO. R-3-72.
WHEREAS the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds,
pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing
on a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of said City to
redesignate the real property described in Planning Commission File
No. R 3-72 from Single Residential 8,000 square feet (RS-8) to
General Commercial (CG); and
WHEREAS, having made the findings set forth in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto, the Planning Commission determined that the
rezoning of the real property described in Exhibit "B" attached
hereto should be denied; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that recommendation be and the same here-
by is made to the City Council of the City of Edmonds that the proposed
amendment be denied.

A number of property owners in the area objected to the.property being
rezoned to a General Commercial zoning, but prefer the area retain it's
Single Residential 8,000 square foot (RS-8) designation. The zoning
on this property has been changed an excessive number of times and was
rezoned in 1971 for Single-family use.

Lake McAleer Five Acre Tracts, according to the
Plat thereof recorded in Volume 5 of Plats, page
48, records of Snohomish County, Washington.
