RESOLUTION NO. 407
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING
APPROVAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE
CITY OF EDMONDS TO REZONE FROM SINGLE RESIDENTIAL, TWENTY THOUSAND
SQUARE FEET (RS-20) TO SINGLE RESIDENTIAL, EIGHT THOUSAND SQUARE FEET
(RS-8) THAT PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN PLANNING COMMISSION FILE NO. R-2-73.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of
Edmonds, pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public
hearing on a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of said
City to redesignate certain property from Single Residential, Twenty
Thousand square feet (RS-20) to Single Residential, Eight Thousand
square feet (RS-8), and
WHEREAS, having made the findings set forth in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto, the Planning Commission determined that
the real property described in Exhibit "B" attached hereto shoud be
redesignated; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that recommendation be and the
same hereby is made to the City Council of the City of Edmonds that
the proposed amendment be approved.

It was the finding of the Planning Commission that the designation of
Single Family Residential (RS-20) should be changed to Single Family
Residential (RS-8) as this would allow a controlled, orderly develop-
ment of the land. It is in keeping with and maintaining the general
lot size and configuration in the immediate vicinity. The proposed
zoning is separated from the existing zoning by a natural "steep sloped"
barrier. That the proposed zoning would not be detrimental to the
general public health and welfare.

Description of property to be zoned RS-8:
That portion of Tract 126, Meadowdale Beach Tracts, as recorded
in Vol. 5 of plats, page 38 records of Snohomish County, Wa.,
lying adjacent to and Easterly of the following described line.
Beginning at a point on the South line of said tract lying
240.00 feet Westerly from the Southeast corner of said tract;
thence N 13'00'W 218.00 ft. thence N 11*00' E 80.00 ft.; thence
N 29*00' E 100.00 feet; thence N 7*00' E 145.00 ft.; thence
N 1*00' E 115.00 ft. (more or less) to the North line of said
tract and terminus of said line.
