RESOLUTION NO. "420
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMEND-
ING APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO REMOVE STATE-
MENT FROM SECTION 12.13.130, g, SETBACKS FOR MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELL-
ING IN COMMUNITY BUSINESS (BC) ZONE, AS SET FORTH IN PLANNING
COMMISSION FILE NO. ZO-3-73.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of
Edmonds, pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public
hearing on a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Ordinance
of the City of Edmonds to remove a statement from Section 12.13.130,
g, setbacks for multiple family dwellings in Community Business
zone, and
WHEREAS, having made the findings that it is in
the best interest of the people to remove the statement in order
to insure adequate light and air access to spaces along sides of
structures,:, -when another structure is constructed on adjacent pro-
perties, and that it could create unhealthy conditions to allow
living spaces to be.built on property right-of-way lines, and
WHEREAS, it was determined by the Planning Commis-
sion that in fairness to property owners in BC zoned property to
establish, if an ordinance is passed, an effective date of 6
months from publication of such ordinance, and
WHEREAS, it was the finding of the Edmonds Planning
Commission that the statement set forth in "Exhibit All attached
should be removed; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that recommendation be and the
same hereby.is made to the City Council of the City of Edmonds
that the:proposed amendment to Section 12.13.130, g, of the Zon-
ing Ordinanee_,be approved.

It was the findings of the Planning Commission that the following
statement should be.removed from Sec. 12.13.'130, g, of the Edmonds
Zoning Ordinance:
"Front and side yard requirements of multiple family
dwellings are not applicable in the.BC zone pro
vided all othher.bulk and dimensional requirements
are observed."
