RESOLUTION NO. 451
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING
APPROVAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL COMPREHENSIVE LAND
USE AND THOROUGHFARE PLAN TO RE-CLASSIFY SUNSET AVENUE FROM MAIN TO
CASPERS, AND CASPERS FROM SUNSET AVENUE TO THIRD, TO RESIDENTIAL
ACCESS, AS SET FORTH IN PLANNING FILE NO. ST-4-74.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of
Edmonds, pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public
hearing on a proposed amendment to the Comprehensive Land Use and
Thoroughfare Plan to re-classify Sunset Avenue from Main to Caspers,
and Caspers from Sunset Avenue to Third, from present designation
of Community Arterial to Residential Access, and
WHEREAS, after due consideration of existing and
future neighborhood and traffic conditions and findings set forth
in "Exhibit A" attached hereto, the Planning Commission determined
that the proposed amendment to re-classify Sunset Avenue from Main
to Caspers and Caspers from Sunset to Third, to Residential Access
should be approved; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of said
City that recommendation be and the same hereby is made to said
City Council that the proposed amendment to the Official Comprehensive
Land Use and Thoroughfare Plan be approved.

"EXHIBIT A"
The Planning Commission established the.following findings:
1. The Shoreline Management Program recommends that all
major raodways be located outside the.shorelines zone.
2. The residents of the area requested by petition that
the streets be re-classified.
3. The re-classification of the streets, Sunset Avenue
from Main to Caspers and Caspers from Sunset to Third,
would be in the best interest and general safety, welfare
and health of the public.
