RESOLUTION NO. 456
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING
APPROVAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE
CITY OF EDMONDS TO REZONE FROM SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL 6,000 SQUARE
FEET (RS-6) TO MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL HIGH DENSITY (RMH), THAT PROPERTY
DESCRIBED IN PLANNING COMMISSION FILE NO. R-5-74
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds,
pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing on a
proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of said City, to re -designate
certain property from Single Family Residential 6,000 square feet (RS-6)
to Multiple Residential, High Density fRMH), and
WHEREAS, having made the findings set forth in "Exhibit A"
attached hereto, the Planning Commission determined that the real prop-
erty described in "Exhibit B" attached hereto, and designated in maps
attached, should be rezoned; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of said City
recommends and forwards to the City Council of the City of Edmonds that
the proposed amendment to rezone that certain real property described
in "Exhibit B" to Multiple Residential High Density (RMH), be approved.

''EXHIBIT A"
Planning Commission findings indicate the following:
1. The Comprehensive Plan indicates multi -family zoning for this
area.
2. The rezone area is surrounded on all sides by zoning which allows
more intensive land use. The land use change would not be
significantly different from that already existing in the area.
3. Present yield of the property in dwelling units would be 19. A
rezone to RMH would allow 93 units to be built.
4. The rezone would allow development of a significant supply of
housing near the central business district and potential public
transportation routes.

Legal description of proposed rezone property:
All that portion of the southwest quarter of the southeast quarter of
Section 23, Township 27 north, Range 3 east, W.M., in the County of
Snohomish, State of Washington, described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the south line of said southeast quarter
of the southeast gaarter and the west line of Third Street; which is the
true point of beginning, thence north 00 4' west 363 feet more of less;
thence south 890 42' west 380 feet; thence south 00 7' west 363 feet more
or less; thence north 890 42' east 380 feet to the true point of beginning.
